Priory Woods School & Arts College A Special Place to Learn

Hello to Everyone

Dear Families,

Just a quick message to say hello to everyone. I hope you are all well. We're almost at half term and what a few weeks it has been.

I know a great many of you are welcoming the live lessons for your child or young person and it has been fantastic to have the positive feedback we have received. Everyone, both staff and families, have had to learn all sorts of things we never imagined doing. I have seen some fabulous clips of children at home joining in with the lessons going on in school and of students being over the moon at being able to see their friends that they have not been with for a while.

I'm just hoping that CBBC don't look at some of the sessions that once camera-shy members of staff have put out to support learning, otherwise we might have a lot of jobs going!

As always, we want you to enjoy the sessions with your child, but don't feel you have to do everything suggested, in the way suggested. Whatever you can do is great; we really don't expect you to recreate school in your living room.

I know the million-dollar question we are all asking, is 'when can we all get back to school?'  I sincerely wish I had an answer for you but at the moment, nobody does. We know the 8th March has been suggested as a possibility, but we can only hope. As I know you understand, decisions made by me and our governors are based on the best advice we can get and in line with national guidelines. Rest assured that the safety of everyone is absolutely at the heart of decisions made. We have been promised that schools will receive two weeks notice before we come back so as soon as I know, you will too.

I know you are all in contact with class staff, often now using DoJo as well as by phone or email. Remember, please ask for help if and when you need to- that's what we are here for.

Have a lovely weekend,

Janis

P.S. Just a reminder that next Friday 12.2.21 is a PD day so school is closed to pupils and online lessons will not happen as everyone will be in training.
