We are an Ofsted rated ‘Outstanding’, all age (4-19) special school in Middlesbrough and we work with children and young people with a range of learning difficulties, including Severe Learning Difficulties, Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties, and Complex Learning Difficulties and Disabilities.

Salary: £18,365 - £19,490 (actual salary)
Hours: 35 hours per week, term time only plus one week
Contractual status: Permanent

Café Supervisor

Our school runs ‘Café 16’, a commercial café which supports the learning of our Post 16 and Key Stage 4 pupils.

Due to the retirement of the current post holder, a Café Supervisor is required from 1st October 2022.  The Café Supervisor will be responsible for the day-to-day operation of the café.  This will include assisting in providing real work experience opportunities for our pupils in facilitating a learning environment and supervising pupils in preparing food, working in the Café and in cleaning the setting and facility.

  • Experience of working with pupils with special needs
  • Experience of supervising staff in a food setting
  • Previous customer care experience

Assistant Caretaker – Part Time

                                £11,050 (actual salary)
Hours:
                                20 hours per week, whole time
Contractual status:
    Permanent – to start 1st September 2022

We are looking for a school caretaker who will take pride in how our amazing school looks and functions and will have a good range of experience including general DIY, cleaning and maintenance and will be able to communicate effectively with a range of people including pupils, parents, staff, visitors and contractors.

The role includes but is not limited to:

  • locking/unlocking the buildings and site, ensuring the site is accessible and safe on a daily basis,
  • carrying out daily/weekly/monthly safety checks and actioning as appropriate,
  • carrying out basic maintenance,
  • controlling access and egress of school transport,
  • support with hydro pool maintenance,
  • liaising with contractors,
  • supporting the Site Supervisor to ensure the site is functioning correctly.

The successful applicant will

  • ideally have worked within a school environment previously or have a strong maintenance background.
  • Ideally have experience in a trade or worked in a role involving building maintenance
  • be professional at all times, as well as friendly and enthusiastic.
