Priory Woods School & Arts College A Special Place to Learn

Post 16

P1 have been working on exploring Africa this half term. We have made an African couscous in a tagine during our sensory cooking sessions by exploring, feeling and smelling spices and a variety of vegetables. During our dance sessions, we have explored the Lion King by dressing up, listening to African music, as well as exploring animal masks, the smells and sounds of Africa.

Post 16 have had a great half term. Our Priory Products enterprise is really taking off, and we offer lots of new products. We are now printing Coasters, Picture Slates and Bags alongside the Mugs and T-shirts we have on offer. They also still offer sweet treats and gifts. You can check out our Priory Woods School Enterprise Facebook page to find out more. The students have displayed excellent team work, problem solving skills and customer service and are rightly proud of what they have to offer. Staff enjoy having their lunch made by The Hungerbusters each Friday. The students work hard to ensure they create yummy lunches. The group not only make the lunches they also take orders, plan menus, order shopping online and deliver the meals. We have started running transitions to Post 19 provisions and this is going really well. In addition to this Year 13 and 14 enjoyed visiting the Transition Event yesterday at Teesside University. We found out about lots of different colleges and day care providers and had a great time in the workshops ran by The Orchard, Sue Thornton's Academy, Prior Pursglove and Bridgehill.
